An 1882 note at the back of the volume suggests that most entries for burials at Birmingham prior to 1749 were transcribed from a cash book where they were recorded in regular order up to 1709. After 1709 - 1749 they were only occasionally recorded, some into another cash book and some from scraps of paper later pasted into Leicester burial register. A number of additional birth entries 1727 - 1732 and burial entries 1727 - 1741 were recorded in copy registers belonging to Jos[ep]h Gibbins from registers which had been taken from some registers non extant in 1882. |
