DescriptionSouth Birmingham Friends Institutes Trust originally comprised Greet Institute, Hay Mills Institute, and Bushmore Institute which were all set up as branches of Moseley Road Institute to continue adult school and mission work in these areas. Later Moseley Hall Friends Hall and Institute Trust became part of South Birmingham Friends Institutes Trust. Although Trustees had to be Quakers living within 40 miles of Birmingham city centre, and were therefore members of the Monthly Meeting, the Trust was not part of Central England Area Meeting/Warwickshire Monthly Meeting and did not act for or report to the Monthly Meeting.

With the closure and sale of the institutes, today the Trust provides support for activities based at Kings Heath Meeting House, affordable and social housing for rent near Kings Heath Meeting House, and grants for religious and educational work undertaken by Warwickshire Monthly Meeting. Farm Street Trust became a part of South Birmingham Friends Institutes Trust in 2014. See SF/2/1/1/10/4/15/2 for additional records relating to South Birmingham Friends' Institutes Trust properties.

See SF/3/9, SF/3/14 and SF/3/15 for records of Farm Street, Hay Mills and Moseley Road Institutes. Records of Moseley Road Friends Hall and Institute Trustees can be found at SF 3/15/4. Records of Farm Street Friends Hall Trustees can be found at SF/3/9/4/1.
