DescriptionA Quarterly Joint Teachers' Meeting comprising teachers from Severn Street Men's Adult School and the Women's Adult School based at first the Girls' British School, then Ann Street (now Colmore Row) and finally Priory First Day School, was started in 1850. The meetings consisted of the reading of reports from teachers of each class in both schools, from other Friends' First Day Schools, from the Friends' First Day School Association and appointment of representatives to its meetings, and discussing the most effective teaching methods, week-day evening schools, libraries and savings funds. Meetings were held regularly for a number of years, but by the 1890s, they were only held as when it was deemed necessary. From the turn of the century, meetings once again became more regular.
