| Description | There is reference throughout a large part of this minute book, to the building of a new meeting house, which was to be built next to the pre-fabricated meeting house, on land at Sandhills Road given to West Birmingham Trustees (later transferred to Warwickshire Monthly Meeting Trustees) in 1933 by M. Louisa Gibbins. The subject was first discussed at the Meeting of 12 January 1964, but it was not until May 1969 that the new meeting house was opened. Rooms in the new meeting house were rented out to a number of local groups, providing income for the upkeep of the building. The old pre-fabricateded meeting house was subsequently demolished.
Contains loose inserts, including a flyer advertising the Quaker Exhibition on 13th-14th September [1969] at Barnt Green Meeting House where people could find out about the Quakers, their beliefs and their work. The work of the Young Friends, Woodbrooke, the Woodlands and Oaktree House were also included in the exhibition, and there was a question and answer session in the evening. |
