| Description | This volume includes the minutes of Monthly Meetings and Preparative Meetings, reflecting the less formalised structure of meetings in the early 17th century.
The main business of the meeting focused on the care of the poor, the sick and the plight of Friends who were imprisoned for their beliefs and includes a list of sufferings, dated 1725. It also includes details of the establishment of a trust for the 'Ten Pounds charity', with Samuel Bradford, Henry Bradford, Samuel Summerland being the first Trustees.
Bound inside the minute book is a smaller volume entitled 'The Book of Collection Money, Building Expenses etc', which among other expenses lists the subscriptions given by Friends towards construction of the new meeting house in 1724. |
