Volumes BCC/1/AB/1/1/1 and /3 are uniformly titled. BCC/1/AB/1/1/2 is entitled 'Committee on Transfer of Local Acts'. The minutes detail the negotiations and points of contention between Birmingham Corporation and other areas of Birmingham which became part of the borough in 1851, particularly the Street Commissioners and officials of the towns of Bordesley, and Deritend and Duddeston and Nechells. The committee also proposed means of compensating those officials who might lose out as a result of the extension of the borough of Birmingham. Finally, there are reports on the poor drainage and sanitation network in Duddeston and Nechells which would need to be considered following the extension of the borough. |
