AdminHistoryThe Street Collections Sub-Committee was formed in January 1921, and consisted of various numbers of members that regulated the permission required and the accounts for street collections made on behalf of charities and other organisations. After the House to House Collections Act of 1939, the name of this sub-committee was changed to the Public Collections Sub-Committee in July 1940. The sub-committee was disbanded when the function was transferred to the Public Safety Committee in June 1965 (see BCC/1/DF).
