Minutes BCC/1/AF/4/1/1 - 8 are in the volumes entitled 'Winson Green Visiting Sub-Committee'. Minutes BCC/1/AF/4/1/9 onwards are in the appropriately dated combined sub-committee minute volumes (see BCC/1/AF/11/1). The minutes include reports of inspectors (such as the Commissioners of the Board of Control); the reports and associated correspondence of the Medical Superintendent of the Council to the sub-committee; information on the appointment and dismissal of hospital staff, buildings, maintenance and equipment; lists of patients admitted, discharged, granted leave and on maintenance allowances; and recreational and recreational activities and social events organised for patients. There are also receipts and correspondence detailing individual cases of patients committed under mental health legislation (which include some sensitive information about their mental and physical conditions) and doctor's lists of male and female patients recommended for discharge (including details of family members who applied on their behalf). There is very little information on hospital accounts in the minutes, but much more detail can be found in the minutes of the Rubery Hill Finance Sub-Committee (see BCC/1/AF/10/1). |
