| Description | The minutes are handwritten and signed by the committee chairman. Minute volume BCC/1/AG/5/1/1 is currently missing. Minutes BCC/1/AG/5/1/2 onwards are in the volumes entitled either 'Law Courts Sub-Committee' or 'Victoria Courts Sub-Committee'. The minutes include tables detailing expenses for furnishing and maintaining the Assize and Law Courts and judges lodgings, schedules of the court chambers detailing furnishings and dimensions, and progress reports relating to the design and construction of the courts, and the names, positions, wages and expenses of court officials and support staff. The minutes of 8 February 1886 (minute 204) include correspondence and a list of entries relating to the proposed court motto (see BCC/1/AG/5/1/2). |
