AdminHistoryThe Law Courts Sub-Committee was originally appointed to oversee the design, construction, furnishing and accounts of the new Law Courts in Corporation Street, Birmingham. The Courts were to house the Assize Court, Magistrate’s Courts and the Coroner’s Court, and was named the Victoria Courts, after the reigning monarch. The Queen herself laid the foundation stone in March 1897 and the courts were formally opened by the Prince and Princess of Wales in July 1891.
