| Description | The minutes are handwritten and printed and signed by the committee chairman. Minutes BCC/1/AG/7/1/2 - 3 are in the volumes entitled 'General Purposes Sub-Committee on Accounts'. Minutes BCC/1/AG/7/1/4 onwards are in the appropriately dated combined sub-committee minute volumes (see BCC/1/AG/37/1). Minutes BCC/1/AG/7/1/34 and 35 are in their own separate volumes, entitled 'Finance Sub-Committee'. The minutes in this series currently start from February 1894, but the minute numbering suggests the committee was established at an earlier date, and are presumed missing (see BCC/1/AG/7/1/1). There appears to have been a mix-up in the minute numbering in January 1918, when minute 693 was followed by minute 69 during the following month. As there were usually a couple of minutes per month resolved this may have been a misreading. The minutes include the City Treasurer's half-yearly returns incurred by committee members and departmental officers in connection with their attendance at meetings and visits outside the city, the annual General Rate Fund accounts and estimates of projected and actual income and expenditure of various Council departments, and associated correspondence and memoranda. |
