| Description | Minutes indexed. The minutes are handwritten and printed and signed by the committee chairman. The minutes dated prior to July 1906 are currently missing (see BCC/1/AH/6/1/1). Minutes BCC/1/AH/6/1/2 are in a uniformly titled minute volume. Minutes BCC/1/AH/6/1/3 onwards are in the appropriately dated combined sub-committee minute volumes (see BCC/1/AH/18/1). The minutes include the reports of the City Treasurer relating to various superannuation schemes in place (see particularly minute volume BCC/1/AH/6/1/2), and a large amount of quantitative and qualitative information relating to all aspects of the Council's terms and conditions of employment and remuneration procedures, including the employment of women and, in some cases, juveniles. The minutes also list the names, districts (i.e. Aston Manor Board), offices and amounts due to officials seeking compensation as a result of administrative change, be it due to the proposed extension of the city to absorb the functions of other local government areas such as Aston and Erdington (as happened in 1911 - see minute volume BCC/1/AH/6/1/2) or local government cutbacks. |
