| Description | The minutes were compiled in typescript format and signed by the committee chairman. The minutes are in the appropriately dated combined sub-committee minute volumes (see BCC/1/AM/26/1). The minutes of the Emergency Sub-Committee include all of the information relating to property, rentals, departmental staff and finance as contained in the predecessor sub-committees which were eventually merged into this sub-committee. There are also reports relating to rent pooling schemes introduced to help ease the burden of rents on the wives of military personnel in Birmingham, as well as more general observations on the impact of the Second World War (1939 - 1945) on the work of the committee. |
