| Description | The minutes are printed and signed by the committee Chairman. The minutes are in the appropriately titled sub-committee minute volumes. The minutes contain lists of proposed road works schemes to be undertaken in the future (and degree of urgency), accounts and statements of income and expenditure covering proposed road works, reports of special traffic measures implemented in the city of Birmingham. There is a good deal of information in the minutes concerning the ring road schemes that formed a cornerstone of public works and town planning policy in the city after the end of the Second World War in 1945, major motorway and trunk road routes in and out of the city and more general parking and traffic calming proposals. The minutes of 21 November 1966 includes enclosed plans showing the Inner Ring Road Scheme, with regard to revised traffic proposals for dealing with Lancaster Circus and St Martins Circus (see minute 218 in BCC/1/AO/14/1/1). |
