| AdminHistory | The Interception Sub-Committee was formed prior to August 1880, but the minutes preceding this date are currently missing. The sub-committee consisted of up to seven members. Its function was to run the Interception Department, which dealt with the removal of refuse, salvage and night soil, and its treatment or destruction. The minutes cease in July 1910, and it's likely that the last year of minutes is lost, as in November 1911, the function moved to the Lighting, Stables and Refuse Committee, with a corresponding Refuse Disposal (later Salvage) Sub-Committee. |
