| Description | Some minute volumes indexed. The minutes are handwritten and printed and signed by the committee Chairman. The minutes are in the appropriately titled minute volumes. The minutes dated August 1875 - July 1921 have their own separate index volumes (see BCC/1/AY/1/2) after which the volumes contain their own indexing systems. The minute books contain information on the gas plant; accounts and statements of income and expenditure; staff (including accidents and injuries); schedules of proposed gas works, details of contracts or contractors and progress reports for respective projects; inspection reports; reports on departmental visits to gas works in other parts of the country and abroad; and details of gas leakages and industrial accidents. There are also some reports relating to the work of the Industrial Research Laboratories concerning experiments relating to the provision of Birmingham's gas supply. |
