Its function was to report to the General Purposes and the Corporation committees on the viability of taking the gas supply into Corporation ownership, and to negotiate with the gas companies (Birmingham Gas-Light and Coke Company and the Birmingham and Staffordshire Gas-Light Company) on the terms of transfer. |
