DescriptionThe volume comprises numbered colour plans relating to the various gas works purchased, followed by schedules of deeds and descriptions of land and property relating to each plan section. The plans show total acreage of each site, as well as gas towers, offices and buildings, adjoining property, road, railway and canal infrastructure. The sections coloured yellow define the extent of the freehold. The sections coloured green define the extent of the leasehold. There is a pocket on the inside front cover containing a printed colour plan of the Windsor Street Gas Works, Birmingham, 1903, by Henry Hack, Engineer-in-Chief, Birmingham City Council Gas Department, with description of works on the reverse of the plan; general plan of Adderley Street Gas Works, including key, by Henry Hack, Engineer-in-Chief, Birmingham City Council Gas Department, 1905; tracing paper plan of the Swan Village Gas Works, showing proposed new boundary wall to Great Bridge Street, by Mr A.D. Greatorex, Borough Surveyor, 29 April 1910.
