DescriptionThe minutes are handwritten and signed by the committee Chairman. Minutes BCC/1/BC/1/1/1 are currently missing. Minutes BCC/1/BC/1/1/2 - 5 are in the appropriately titled minute volumes. The minutes include the detailed printed reports of the committee to Council and the reports of the Finance and General Purposes Committee (although the minute volumes of this sub-committee do not survive), as well as associated accounts and statements of income and expenditure. There are also reports of other sub-committees appointed to oversee the provision of specific subjects in the technical schools (for example, Brass Founding Classes Sub-Committee); reports on the progress of the school; details of grants provided by the Board of Education for evening classes; details on the provision of lessons, general progress of students (including lists of successful students); summaries of the Examiner's Reports and analyses of examination results; staffing matters; buildings, maintenance and equipment in the school; and summaries of the Visitors' Reports detailing the views of deputations who visited the school. The minutes of 4 February 1901 include a printed report of a committee deputation to the Paris Exhibition, 1900, and its exhibits (see minute 1745 in BCC/1/BD/1/1/4).
