Most of the volumes have been indexed, although it is indicated on the books which have not, although a supplementary index is available covering the years 1905 - 1906 (see BCC/1/BH/6/2/1/1). The minute volume dated September 1911 - November 1912 includes the minutes of several minor sub-committee (see BCC/1/BH/6/1/1/7), a description for which is provided in the relevant catalogue entry.
The Sites and Buildings (later Development and Buildings) Sub-Committee minute books contain details of the duties of the sub-committee as outlined in the catalogue description BCC/1/BH/6/1, and include details on the building and extension of named schools; negotiations and purchase of new named sites; Educational Building Programme Progress Reports; expenditure on major and minor building projects; resolutions of other standing sub-committees concerning building work outstanding; recommendations to the Education Committee of tenders from named contractors for work; name, school, wage and date of appointment of caretakers and manual employees; details of absences through illness of caretakers and assistants; names of teachers included; reports of the Sites and Buildings Accounts and Repairs Sub-Committee, later Sites and Buildings (Accounts) Sub-Committee. |
