| AdminHistory | The Finance and Stores Sub-Committee was appointed prior to April 1919; no committee minutes survive prior to that date. It consisted of around six members, and its purpose was to consider the accounts and authorise them for payment. The sub-committee also investigated issues regarding contracts, stores and purchasing. In December 1933, after the merger between the Public Health and the Maternity and Child Welfare Committees, this sub-committee was renamed the Finance and General Purposes Sub-Committee. It now dealt with any business (taking some of the general functions of the Works and Public Health and Sanitary Sub-Committees after July 1939), as well as finance, that was laid before it by the main committee. |
