| AdminHistory | The General Purposes Sub-Committee was appointed to advise the main Parks Committee on matters concerning new sites, extensions and the laying out of parks, town planning issues, and games within parks. During the First World War it also advised on allotments and horticultural matters, and in November 1919, it was renamed the General Purposes and Allotments Sub-Committee. With the formation of the Allotment Committee (see BCC/1/CA) in November 1922, the sub-committee reverted back to being the General Purposes Sub-Committee. This sub-committee was merged with the Finance Sub-Committee in November 1945 (see BCC/1/BO/10 General Purposes and Finance Sub-Committee). |
