Minutes BCC/1/BP/4/1/4 onwards are in the appropriately titled combined sub-committee minute volumes (see BCC/1/BP/7). The minutes comprise mainly detailed reports and agendas of the Superintendent or General Manager of the Salvage (Refuse Collection) Sub-Committee. These include details on the organisation of systems of waste collection implemented; details on dustbin hire schemes; prosecution of householders for failing to comply with the requirements of the Salvage Department regarding waste disposal; sanitary reforms undertaken (i.e. conversion of old ash pits into dustbin sheds); maintenance and equipment of waste disposal sites and other buildings belonging to the department; and information on departmental staffing (including accidents to Corporation staff); and accounts and statements of income and expenditure. |
