| Description | The following special sub-committees were formed for specific reasons, sometimes sitting for just one session, for the purpose of undertaking the project stated in the sub-committee title. The description here lists all relevant minute volumes, dates and minute numbers together. This has been done to avoid making the hierarchical structure of the catalogue too complicated. The special sub-committees that reported to the Salvage Committee, and its predecessors, are listed below:
May 1956 - June 1956, minutes 1 - 12 (General Manager for Salvage Department).
December 1966, minutes 1 - 4 (Incentive Bonus).
May 1969, minutes 1 - 4 (Sickness Allowance).
However, in July 1958 a sub-committee was formed to inspect the refuse disposal and salvage works in Sheffield and Glasgow. For the next few years, the Special Sub-Committee took all its minute numbers from this session and began to become a permanent sub-committee replacing some of the duties of the former sub-committees, which appear to have been wound up during the same year, before returning to the special session format in April 1966.

November 1964 - April 1966, minutes 1 - 9 (Disposal and Salvage Works).
August 1969 - November 1973, minutes 1 - 7 and unminuted (Disposal and Salvage Works).
