AdminHistoryThe Smallholdings Sub-Committee was appointed in June 1920 as an advisory sub-committee. It consisted of the whole of the Agricultural and Smallholdings Committee, along with elected representatives from the smallholders. In March 1922 the sub-committee became the Allotments and Smallholders Sub-Committee, after which the Sub-Committees were reappointed on 2 November 1922, when the Smallholdings Sub-Committee was re-established, replacing the existing sub-committee and the Smallholdings Sub-Sub-Committee, which had been appointed in July 1920 (see BCC/1/BX/3/1/4). The new Smallholdings Sub-Committee took on the predecessor sub-sub-committees minutes, and remained operational until December 1949, when the main committee was split to form the Agricultural Committee (see BCC/1/CV) and the Smallholdings Committee (see BCC/1/CW).

The Smallholdings Sub-Sub-Committee also reported to this sub-committee. It was appointed in July 1920. Its main functions were to interview applicants for smallholdings, fix rents and deal with other general matters connected with smallholdings. In November 1922 the sub-committee was disestablished, and was replaced (along with the Smallholders Sub-Committee), with a new Smallholdings Sub-Committee, although its minute sequence continued those of this sub-sub-committee (see BCC/1/BX/3/1/4).
