| AdminHistory | The Air Wardens Sub-Committee established in March 1938, and consisted of four or five main committee members. Its purpose was to give public instruction and advice regarding Air Raid Precautions; to give air raid warnings themselves; organise the air-raid wardens; recruit and train personnel for Air Raid Precaution schemes; distribute gas-masks and respirators; and collect and distribute information on air raid casualties and damage. This sub-committee became the Wardens and Fire Guards Sub-Committee in November 1941 (see BCC/1/CK/8), for which there was a meeting held in July 1941. |
