The minutes include details of relief and gifts allocated to prisoners of war, reports relating to the operations of the affiliated food packing centre (including statistics of food parcels sent out to POWs and visits of prominent officials and military officers to the centre), and further details about publicity, supplies, staffing and finances (including donations granted by private individuals and organisations). Minute book BCC/1/CN/1/1/1 also includes additional minutes of a conference held at the Lord Mayor's Parlour, Birmingham, on 13 June 1940 regarding prisoners of war work in Birmingham (see meeting of 11 July 1940, minute 3). |
