The minutes include printed copies of regulations and legislation relating to the provision of mental healthcare, the reports of the Chief Medical Officer of Health touching on all aspects of mental healthcare provision in the city, including the organisation of the department and its officials. There are also reports of the Chief Inspector of the department, which include lists cases for certification under various Mental Deficiency Acts, including personal names, ages and nature of case, as well as numbers discharged or returned or outside of mental institutions in Birmingham at the time the reports were compiled.
