AdminHistoryThe Finance and General Purposes Sub-Committees was one of the original subordinate bodies, formed at the same time as the main committee. It had the dual responsibility of advising the main committee on all its financial matters, its expenses, the management of its funds, and acting as a general purpose panel, to consider and report on any matter laid before it by the main committee. Matters placed before it included staffing and appointments, sub-committee constitutions, general building (furnishing, care of grounds and tree felling) and residents' matters (meals, visitors and the provision of toys and clothing).
