| AdminHistory | The Residential Nurseries Sub-Committee was formed in May 1952, and consisted of ten members. The sub-committee was devolved from a function of the Homes Sub-Committee (see BCC 1/CT/3). The delegations to this sub-committee were to have control and administer the residential nurseries; to appoint members of staff and administer all matters relating to staffing; and to carry out repair works and arrange for regular committee visits. As such, responsibility fell on this sub-committee for the Hawthorne House (Handsworth), Meadway (Stechford), Flint Green (Acocks Green), Perry Villa (Perry Barr), Oaklands (Droitwich), Red House (Overbury), Wassell Grove (Stourbridge), Pype Hayes (Erdington) and Field House (Clent) Residential Nurseries. The sub-committee remained in operation until April 1966, when it was re-amalgamated with the Homes Sub-Committee, becoming the Homes and Nurseries Sub-Committee (see also BCC 1/CT/3). |
