| AdminHistory | In 1949, the Agriculture and Smallholdings Committee was separated into its component committees in accordance with Part IV of the 1947 Agriculture Act, which allowed for the constitution of a separate Smallholdings Committee (see BCC/1/CW). The aim was for the new Smallholding Committee to administer the new Canwell Estate and the existing Agriculture and Small Holdings Committee was to continue all other business under the name of the Agricultural Committee. This it did so until the 25 April 1957, when the functions of the committee were transferred to the Smallholdings Committee. There was a separate Finance Sub-Committee appointed, but there are currently no minutes for it. A representative of the committee also served on the Agricultural Advisory Committee of the West Midlands Council. |
