| Description | This sub series comprises one volume of minutes for meetings of the Special Committee of the Guardians of the Poor of the Birmingham Parish. The committee was formed to discuss the Case Paper system, namely the procedures and forms used to record applications for poor relief. The provenance of this special committee is unknown, and may have had something to do with the City Council, with the possibility of Councillors sitting on the committee itself; however, the Council was more directly involved with the Guardians of the Poor of Birmingham after the passing of the Extension Act of 1911. |
