Description	The album was created by the G6 Gas Turbine department at Joseph Lucas Ltd and contains photographs and letters, mainly referring to Erdington Cottage Homes and Ward 1 at the Children's Hospital. There are also photographs of presentations made to employees on retirement or for weddings, and photos of the visit made by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh to Joseph Lucas Ltd in 1955. Many of the album's pages are loose, and there are also loose photographs and letters included. Item level reference numbers refer to one page (both sides) or one loose item.
Physical Description	Many of the photographs are coming unstuck from their pages, and some of the pages themselves seem quite fragile. Some photos which have been detached from their pages have been clipped back on and therefore care must be taken when handling.

Arrangement	It appears that the loose pages from the album have been repeatedly moved, and so it is unclear what the original arrangement of pages was. The loose pages have therefore been listed in approximate date order. Loose pages are listed first, followed by the pages which are still attached to the album, and finally loose photographs and other items which have become detached from the album.
AdminHistory	Joseph Lucas Ltd was founded in Birmingham in 1872 as Joseph Lucas & Son. The company manufactured components for the motor and aerospace industries. In 1954 the Birmingham Evening Despatch reported that the workers in the G6 Gas Turbine Department at the company had 'adopted' a ward at the Children's Hospital, followed by two of the cottages at Erdington Cottage Homes, Glenedyth and Birkdale.
