The following information is provided on the personal information cards; Surname, Christian name, regimental or other number (if any), date of casualty or death, place of casualty or death, confirmation of civilian status (if relevant), name of informant, address of informant, date of writing of card, signature of informant. It is necessary to consult the 'index cards to public correspondence' [BCC/2/1/1] in order to find the cards and correspondence relating to specific individuals. Once a reference number has been found, to order the personal information card that you wish to see, it is neccesary to supply the reference number BCC/2/4 followed by the number of the individual card that you wish to order |
