| Description | This charity was founded by the will of Sir William Whorwood proved in the P.C.C. 16 February 1615. By his will he bequeathed to the poor of West Bromwich and such of the poor of Handsworth as dwell along the highway near Sandwell £10 yearly out of the tithes of West Bromwich, and a further £5 yearly payable to the poor of Kings Norton out of the tithes of West Bromwich. |
