| Description | The Salaries and Wages committee was formed in 1921, following a resolution made by the Advisory sub-committee (see GP B/2/8/2/4-5). Consisting of 10 Guardians, its purpose was to fix 'the rates of remuneration and conditions of service of all employees, present and future.' (See GP B/2/12/4/1.) As well as setting the wage levels of employees when new posts were created, the committee was also responsible for reviewing existing rates of pay, and adjusting them accordingly. The committee continued to operate up until 1928, but it is not known what happened to it after this date. |
