| Description | The Erdington House Revision sub-committee was founded in 1914 by the Erdington House sub-committee, which was itself subordinate to the House committee. Consisting of six Guardians, the sub-committee's duties were similar to those of the Western Road House Revision sub-committee (see GP/B 2/3/16, above) - namely, to regularly review the status of paupers, and decide whether they should remain in the workhouse. The committee could also issue warrants for the apprehension of individuals who had abandoned their families, which were now dependent on the Union for support. It appears that the sub-committee continued to operate after 1914, but the minutes for this period do not survive. - The volume contains details on all of the above duties, along with information on individual inmates and families. |
