| Description | The Workhouse Infirmary Management committee was founded in 1888 to supervise the administration of the newly opened infirmary. Consisting of 12 Guardians, the committee was responsible for the supervision of all aspects of the infirmary, including the buying in of supplies, the appointment of staff, and the movement of patients into and out of it.
The surviving minutes cover the whole period of the infirmary's life, from its initial fitting out and furnishing, through to the amalgamation of the Birmingham, Aston and King's Norton Unions in 1912. Following this date, the infirmary's management was taken over by the Hospitals committee (see GP B/2/4/8, below). The volumes are not indexed. |
