DescriptionThe Infirmary Works sub-committee was appointed in May 1898 by the Workhouse Infirmary Management Committee. Consisting of six Guardians, the sub-committee's duties included 'the supervision of the duties of the Master (other than such portion of his duties as appertain to the service of the inmates), the control of the Engineering Staff, Carpenters, Bricklayers, Painters, Gardeners, and all outside workmen all matters relating to the maintenance of the Buildings and sanitary condition of the Infirmary, internally and externally, all renovation of the Wards, fittings, the keeping of the Grounds, and the cultivation of the Land, the provision of all Materials and Stores required for these purposes.' (see GP B/2/4/6/1) The sub-committee continued to operate until April 1906, at which point it was disbanded by the Workhouse Infirmary Management committee.

The volumes contain minutes on all of the above topics, along with information on the Guardians themselves, their election and resignation from the sub-committee. The volumes are not indexed.
