TitleVaccination Registers: King's Norton
LevelSub Series
Date1912 - 1922
DescriptionAs part of the 1871 Vaccination Amendment Act, the Union Vaccination Officers had to keep regular records on the numbers of children vaccinated by them. These figures were contained in the vaccination registers, which give personal details about each child - place and date of birth, name, father's (or, in the case of illegitimate children, mother's) name and occupation - along with information on the vaccination itself - when it was performed and by whom. Entries were made for each month, covering all of those children whose birth was registered in the Union during that time. Those children that died before a vaccination could be carried out are included in some cases - but a fuller source for this type of information is the series of monthly lists of deaths (see GP B/29/8-10, below, and also GP KN/29/8-11). These volumes cover just the southern district of what was the Kings Norton Union (outlined at GP KN/29/1), and are not indexed.

These volumes were originally a part of the Kings Norton Union collection - see GP KN/29/2/1-16 for the earlier part of the series.
