| Description | Along with the financial portion, above, the Union had a separate Finance Committee. The volumes date from 1871, but it is unclear when the Committee was originally created. However, after the September of that year the Committee's accounts began to be regularly included in the Board of Guardians' minutes. References in the Board minutes, to the appointment of a Chairman to the Finance Committee, and ordering the Clerk to provide it with a minute book, would also indicate that the Committee was formed in 1871 (see GP KN/2/1/13).
The minutes contain information similar to that in GP KN/2/3/1, beginning with the names of those Guardians present at each meeting, and then moving on to examine the salaries of the Union's officials and its business accounts. The level of detail varies according to the date, with the later accounts giving more financial information. The volumes are not indexed. |
