| Description | Along with the vaccination registers themselves, another record to be kept by the Vaccination Officers was the monthly list of deaths. These detailed those children under one year old who had died before a vaccination could be carried out. The lists only contain the child's most basic personal details - date and place of death, child's name and age, parent's occupation - rather than detailed notes on the cause of death. The lists include those children who were in the care of the Guardians at the time of their death.
This particular series covers only the parish of King's Norton - however, other volumes survive for Harborne, Edgbaston and Smethwick (see GP KN/29/7-9, below). The volumes are not indexed. |
