Jennie described her journey from starting a pharmacy degree to children's nursing, highlighting the sense of belonging and fulfilment she found in this field. She shared her experiences working as a children's nurse in a district general hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, highlighting the joys and challenges of caring for sick children. Throughout the conversation she emphasized the importance of communication and empathy in nursing. She shared the fact that she was the first Project 2000 nurse to become a Sister at Great Ormond Street and talked about her PhD that focused on assessment of delirium in children and her work as a pain nurse specialist. |
