| Description | Twentieth-century photocopy of an article written in 1871 entitled 'Athol Lodge, Masonic Hall, Severn Street, Birmingham (The Old Jewish Synagogue)'. The article includes a reproduction of two brass plates discovered in 1871 during alterations to the building: one, in Hebrew, with a translation, commemorates the building of the synagogue and records the names of the 'five principal men'; the other commemorates the rebuilding of the synagogue in 5587 and gives the names of the Wardens. |
