| Description | Surveyed by William Fowler and Son. Scale: 10 chains to 1 inch [ or 1:7,920]. South-western quarter of map only, with explanatory note (part missing). By comparison with 403327 it appears that this should read: "In 1932 three copper plates were found in the office of Messrs. J. Mathews & Sons of Birmingham. They were lent to the Birmingham Reference Library and by the direction of the Birmingham Public Libraries Committee twelve prints from each (by the off-set process) were made by Messrs. Billing & Co. Ltd. This is one of the prints: A Map of the Parish of Aston [?juxta] Birmingham, 1848 (William Fowler and Son)". This is part of the map used as a base for the Aston tithe map. |
