AdminHistoryTrewhella Bros. Ltd. was a subsidiary of Hoskins and Horton Limited from at least 1970.

In c.1910, Benjamin Trewhella emigrated from Australia. He established an English operation, to exploit patents held by the family firm Trewhella Proprietary Ltd, of Trentham, Victoria. Benjamin was intitially agent, later manager and chief Engineer for Trewhella Brothers Ltd. Monkey jacks and winches were producted. Premises were at 6 Alma Street, Smethwick, later at Rolfe Street, Smethwick. From c.1922 the registered office was at 'Fairview' Island Road, Handsworth. This was the family home of Benjamin Trewhella.
