In 1987 with the assistance of the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants (JCWI) the Latchmere Project was set up to provide welfare advice and referral service for the 98 people detained at any one time at Latchmere House Remand Centre under Immigration Act powers. Nature of support: In 1990 the Trust agreed to underwrite up to £16,000 for 1990/1991 with a similar figure subject to consideration for 1991/1992. Minutes: B&GSCT 7197.
