Funding source(s): Barrow Cadbury Trust, Barrow and Geraldine S. Cadbury Trust. Applicant overview: NYCVS was established in 1936 from a variety of major youth organisations in the UK. NYCVS provides a forum and representative body for the Voluntary Youth Service (VYS). The Council aims to work closely with the National Youth Agency, created by the Government in 1991, and to provide liaison and support, particularly for local councils to ensure that significant developments in youth activities are disseminated. Nature of support: In 1991 the Trust agreed to three annual grants of £5,000 per annum to help re-launch the NYCVS following the removal of support by the Government. In 1993 three annual grants of £10,000 were approved. The balance of this grant, amounting to £25,000 was rescinded in 1995. Minutes: BCT 93, B&GSCT 7446, B&GSCT 7666.
