Applicant overview: The Black Country Women's Development Consortium (BCWDC) was formed 1997 from development organisations in Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton. In 2001 the BCWDC launched the BCWDP with the aim of, 1) continuing small grant funds in the four regions, 2) the employment of a part-time development worker to provide support to small grant fund applicants, and, 3) support to expand the work of the BCWDC in the region. Nature of support: In 2001 the Trust approved a grant of £65,000 for three years starting in 2001/2002. Annual grants were approved primarily for salary costs (£35,000) as well as £5,000 each for grant giving panels in Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton, £1,800 towards each panel's administration and servicing costs and £3,600 as a one-off grant towards recruitment expenses and a computer.
