Applicant overview: The CWIC exists to offer women advice on a number of subjects including health, contraception, pregnancy, childbirth, housing and accommodation, training and careers, equal opportunities and financial matters. There is a general emphasis on self-help at CWIC. The Centre also serves as a meeting and discussion forum for a number of groups including Asian women, the unemployed and one-parent families. Nature of support: In 1981 the Fund approved a grant of up to £5,600 for two years to support the costs of finding new premises and to meet the salary of a part-time organiser.
